William Keith Ransdell Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

William Keith Ransdell, 91, of Louisville passed away at University of Louisville Hospital on July 15, 2022. Born November 13, 1930, Bill grew up in the Portland Neighborhood, was a 1947 graduate of Flaget High School, and a Korea War veteran of the U.S. Army. He was a management consultant with Serge A. Birn Co., founding Secretary-Treasurer of Moby Dick Seafood, and retired as a systems engineer with Humana Inc. Known for his many interests, including American history, literature, and genealogy, he authored numerous papers and tutorials in Business, two novellas, a collection of poems, and the widely recognized manuscript Sifted from the ashes: Thirteen generations of one line of the Ransdell family in America. His latter-year passion focused on the great unsolved problems in mathematics and physics. He is preceded in death by his wife Margaret Arlean (Hammond) Ransdell, parents Charles Augustus Ransdell, Jr. and Sara Mae (Garry) Ransdell, and brothers Thomas Garry Ransdell and John Charles “Jack” Ransdell. He is survived by a brother Charles Augustus “Bud” (Bonnie) Ransdell, III; a dear cousin and genealogy research partner John Charles Harris; children Mark Mazzoli, Greg (Mary) Ransdell, Laura (Byron) Grantham, Paul Ransdell, Karen Caldwell, Robert (Anne-Britton Arnett) Ransdell, Ken Ransdell, and Keith Ransdell; 14 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. His Funeral Service will be 7 PM Wednesday, July 20, at Pearson’s 149 Breckenridge Lane. Visitation is 1 PM to 7 PM.
