William "Bill" Hardin Jr.

William “Bill” Hardin, Jr, 80, of Louisville, KY, passed away July 23, 2021 at Norton’s Hospital, surrounded by his loving family. Bill was born December 5, 1940 in Lebanon, KY. He was the eldest of three children to the late William and Mary Ann Hardin. He was raised in Springfield, KY and graduated from Springfield High School. In 1960, he moved to Louisville and joined the Army National Guard. He received an honorable discharge after serving for six years. He went to work for Philip Morris, where he retired after 30 years. Bill obtained his pilot’s license and loved taking his family up in the skies. As an avid motorcycle rider, he rode his Harley-Davidson up until his late 70s. Bill also enjoyed trading stock. Along with his parents, Bill is also proceeded in death by his sister, Jean Hodgen. He is survived by his brother, David Hardin (Ann); son, Jim Hardin (Tammy); daughters Shannon Hardin Evans, Mari Beth Hardin Brownfield, and Tami Hardin; grand children, Justin Hardin (Soracha), Stephanie Elble, Gracie Rosebrock, Jack and Jay Hardin, Bryson Brownfield, and Addison Boyer; great-grandson, James Hardin. Visitation will be Monday, August 2, 2021 from 4-7:00 p.m. and Tuesday, August 3, 2021 from 9:30-11 a.m. at Pearson Funeral Home, 149 Breckenridge Lane, Louisville, KY. Funeral service will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Pearson's.
