Violet Lee Rupp Koehler Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Violet Lee Rupp Koehler, age 107, passed away June 29, 2020. One of 13 children, born on July 17, 1912 to the late Effie and William Rupp. A lifelong resident of Louisville, she grew up on a farm in the Glenview area. Violet was one of the earliest members and a faithful volunteer of Christ Church United Methodist as well as Methodist Evangelical Hospital. Violet and Earl were members of Hurstbourne Country Club. She also enjoyed flower gardening and entertaining; as well as fishing at Dale Hollow Lake and at their KY. cottage. They also traveled with her brother, Bill and sister-in-law, Marge. Preceded in death by her husband, Earl Louis Koehler, a young son, Earl Rhea, brothers, Roy, Lloyd, William Jr., Milton, and Richard, sisters, Dorothy Fisher, Thelma Brenner, Verna Monheimer, Sara McCubbins, and Beatrice Boston. Survived by her loving daughter, Bobbie Davenport and son-in-law, Roy, who helped care for her in later years; granddaughters, Barbara Hazelrigg (Dr. David) of Newburgh, IN., and Jill Thornton (Jamie) of Delray Beach, FL; great-grandchildren, Adam, Abby, Allie Hazelrigg, and Preston, Tyler, and Harrison Thornton; siblings, Helen Williams and Don Rupp. Violet will also be missed by many helpful and caring nieces and nephews. The Family Funeral Service will be 12:30 PM Friday July 10, 2020 at Christ Church United Methodist Chapel, 4614 Brownsboro Road with burial to follow in Resthaven Memorial Park.
