    Roy Leland "Lee" Humphrey

    January 16, 1942 - October 7, 2021

Roy Leland “Lee” Humphrey, 79, left this world peacefully with his wife and two daughters by his side. His heart was weary. He was a devoted husband, a father, grandfather known as Lee-Lee, a loyal friend who did not meet a stranger. He was a gentle giant, a kind man who loved unconditionally. He played basketball every week well into his 70’s. He retired from State Farm which left plenty of time to travel to UK games with his friends Denney and Rusty. As a Trinity alumni he was a die hard Trinity High School and UK sports fan... Go big blue!! He was a big fan of Wheel of Fortune, Jeopardy and The Price is Right. Along with being a Coast Guard Veteran he was a WWII History buff priding himself on the countless facts he could share on the spot. He was the dad who drove the girls and their friends all over town often surrendering control of the radio. He told the girls the bank was never wrong, slipped them a twenty while telling them to bring him the change. As he left this world the girls told him what an honor it was to be his daughters. He leaves behind his loving wife of 50 years, Charlene (Webb), daughters Ellee Humphrey (Kurt), Beth McBride (Chris) 2 grandchildren (C.J. & Saylor), faithful sister and brother (Robbie and Bob Battoe), loving nephews (Chip and Marc Battoe) and countless loving friends. He will be missed by all who knew him. Rest well good and faithful servant. Funeral service will be at noon Tuesday Oct. 12, 2021 at Pearson’s 149 Breckenridge Lane with burial to follow in Floydsburg Cemetery; Crestwood. Visitation 3-7 PM Monday. The family requests that masks be worn and observe social distancing. Memorials to Trinity High School Foundation or Norton Children’s Hospital Foundation.
