    Rex B. Evans

    July 8, 1946 - February 5, 2022

Rex B. Evans, 75, of Louisville, died at his residence on Saturday, February 5, 2022. He passed suddenly, despite successfully battling lung cancer, after overcoming bladder cancer 11 years prior. Rex was born on July 8, 1946 in Hammond, IN to Clarence “Bob” Evans and Alta Alein Burch Evans. He grew up in Caneyville, KY, later moving to Louisville. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in Mass Media Communications from Western Kentucky University. He worked at WKCT in Bowling Green and the Lexington Herald Leader before embarking on a long career in industrial controls. Rex loved photography, boating, and flying, and was always up for good food (especially barbecue), and time with loved ones. He had fond memories from Yosemite National Park. Rex earned a private pilot’s license and was a member of the Aero Club of Louisville, serving as its president for one term. He was also a Master Mason at the Grand Lodge of Kentucky. Rex was preceded in death by his parents, and his brother, Tommy Evans of California. He is survived by his brother Bill Evans of Elizabethtown, his children Robert (Kristin) Evans of California and Jennifer (Joe) Meeks of Nevada, and two grandsons, Riley Meeks and Benjamin Evans. Private family memorial will be held at Pearson’s Funeral Home in Louisville, KY on Sunday, February 13. Memorial donations may be made to Home of the Innocents.
