Marcus T. Geromes, age 94, of Louisville, KY passed away peacefully on April 23. He was born in Piraeus, Greece. He was preceded in death by his parents Texas and Antigone Geromes and his sister Penelope. He is survived by his wife Nancy, his daughters Pamela Mann (Mark) and Stephanie Cox (John Hile), his grandsons Michael Mann (Rachel) and Brian Mann (fiance Coryn Taylor) and his brother Alexander Geromes. He leaves many nephews and nieces. Marcus was a faithful and devout member of the Assumption Greek Orthodox Church. He was a leading voice and integral part of building a Church during the 1960’s on the original property that was purchased in the 1920’s. His humble and conciliatory manner served as a model of Christian character to all who knew him. His service and dedication to the Church is an inspiration to future generations. Marcus was a WWII Marine Corps veteran and a cartographer with the Defense Mapping Agency-Louisville, KY Unit, which was also known for mapping the first lunar landing site. He was a member of the American Hellenic Progressive Educational Association (AHEPA) and the Greek American Society. The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, April 26 at 12:00 p.m. at Assumption Greek Orthodox Church at 930 Ormsby Lane, Louisville, KY 40242 with visitation at the church from 10:00 until noon prior to the service. Burial will be at Cave Hill Cemetery. Expressions of sympathy may be made to Assumption Greek Orthodox Church New Fellowship Hall Building Fund or Hosparus Health of Louisville.
