Leonard John Taylor
June 24, 1956 - May 9, 2022
Leonard J. Taylor (66) passed away on May 9 after a long illness, with his wife and daughter at his side. Len was born and raised in Syracuse, NY, the youngest of 5 children. He became an Eagle Scout in the Boy Scouts of America and went on to serve proudly in the US Navy as a MM2 aboard the aircraft carrier JFK CV-67, out of Norfolk, VA. After the Navy, he returned home to Syracuse where he met Beth, his wife of 42 years. They moved to Cape Cod where they welcomed daughter Alexis and Len built a career in residential appliance repair. Over time, the family moved back to Syracuse, then later to Louisville, KY. Len loved all animals, adopting strays and rescues over the course of his life. He also believed in treating people like people, regardless of their background or belief or ethnicity. He deeply enjoyed the outdoors and family camping trips. He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Beth of Louisville, KY, his daughter Alexis of Wauconda, IL, his sister Cindi of North Syracuse, NY, and his half sister Mary of Kirkville, NY, as well as numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews. The family asks that instead of flowers, expressions of sympathy should be donated to the Kentucky Humane Society or the Boy Scouts of America. Per Len’s request, there will be no wake or funeral, and the family will have a private cremation service. Arrangements under the direction of Pearson's, "Where Louisville Goes To Remember".
