Kenneth Norman (Norm) Berry Sr. Norman Berry passed away May 18th, at his home in St Mathews. He was born to the late Gertrude and George D Berry in Corbin Kentucky on 3/13/33. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his beloved wife of 59 Years. Doris (Dottie) Mitchell Berry, sisters Wilma Berry Mann, Marie Berry Holder and infant son Christopher. He was member of St Marks Episcopal church, the Louisville Boat Club, the Pyramid Investment Club and Rotary Club. He is survived by his daughter; Doris Flowers (Stuart), son Ken Berry, and his sister Sharon Berry Goldfarb, plus granddaughters, Caroline Flowers and Jessica Berry. Norman was a graduate of Corbin High School and held degrees from The University of Kentucky in both Civil Engineering and Architecture. Professionally, he was a partner in BBT Architects in Frankfort and then founded K Norman Berry Associates in Louisville in 1971. He was a true driver in the redevelopment of West Main Street and preserving downtown Louisville’s historic buildings. The firm’s many projects include the Speed Museum, Frazier Museum, Louisville Slugger Field, and others too numerous to list. His many awards include being a Fellow of the American Institute of Architects and the Oberwarth Award. His proudest professional accomplishment was helping and growing the many young Architects whom he worked with. He and Dottie loved traveling to Europe with friends, sailing on the Ohio and the Tuesday night dinner gathering at the Louisville Boat Club. Plus, his yearly trips to the Camp Kaintuck fishing club in Canada. Special thanks need to be expressed to Lana, Pearl, Barbara, Silvia, Anthony, Brian, Tevin, Darren and Ezell, who began as caregivers and became very good friends. There will be a graveside service at Cave Hill Cemetery on Saturday at 1:00 pm. Those attending please line up inside the Broadway Gate at 12:30pm. In lieu of flowers please consider donating to the University of Kentucky College of Design.
