Joan Specht Dosker

Joan Specht Dosker, 92, of Louisville formerly of Lexington passed peacefully on Monday. Joans love of travel stemmed from her childhood adventures in New Orleans, Saratoga New York, Texas, Florida, and Havana Cuba, as her father was a parimutuel manager for the horse racing circuit. Upon returning to Lexington, Joan attended University High School and the University of Kentucky then marrying her husband Cornelius Jr. March 11, 1950. The two settled in Anchorage where they raised four sons. In between raising her children Joan volunteered at the Morton Home and other Episcopal charities. Joan is preceded in death by her parents (Joseph and Etta Specht), her husband (Cornelius Jr.), her sons (john and Jospeh), and grandson (Joseph jr.). And is survived by two sons Cornelius III and William, granddaughter, Katherine, and daughter in law, Lucy Dosker (Palmer-Ball). Funeral Service will be Noon, Friday Jan. 21, 2022 at Pearson’s 149 Breckinridge Lane with private burial at Cave Hill Cemetery. Visitation 10 AM - 12 PM Friday at Pearson’s. Arrangements under the direction of Pearson's, "Where Louisville Goes To Remember." The family wishes to thank the staff at Westport Place and Hosparus for their kindness and loving care. In lieu of flowers, Expressions of sympathy can be made to the Crusade for Children or Home of the Innocents.
