James “Jim” Louis Brown, Jr., 67 years old, was born January 13th, 1955 in Louisville and passed away Thursday April 14th at Norton Audubon Hospital from a long series of illness. Jim is preceded in death by his loving wife JoAnn Brown, his father James Louis Brown Sr., mother Shirley Marie Myers, brother Dwain Irvine Brown, sister Sherri Ann Gallo and nephew John Gallo. Jim is survived by his siblings Brenna Marie Brown, Brad Allen Brown, Bil Brown, Phillip Andre Brown, Angela Marie Goldsmith, aunt Judy Simpson and many nieces and nephews; Michael, Christopher, Charline, Dorothy, Travis, Brian, Heather, Dalia, Nadia, Eusebia, Bryson, Kenyon, Gayla, Diamanda, Dorian, Ona, William and Waylon. We all miss and love him! Jim was an accomplished musician and sang and wrote his original gospel songs. His beautiful singing baritone voice was a gift that he shared with many church congregations. He is best known for his songs "Holy Ghost Heart", "Only Your Word" and "The Final Door". In his last days he enjoyed singing for the sick, elderly and handicapped in his ministries, uplifting the hearts of many. He touched the spirits of others with his gift for music, witness, and prayer. He was a member of the Church of our Savior Pentacostal Church. Jim is now singing harmoniously with the angels in heaven. Jim will be remembered for his strength, endurance and perseverance as he struggled with effects of traumatic Injuries from an accident in 2003 that changed his life. Jim was blessed with a loving and caring wife JoAnne who helped in his recovery before her passing in 2009. Jim's eternal good attitude and deep faith kept his spirits high through many health challenges. His last days were spent reminiscing about happy memories, singing his songs, spending time with family and talking about foods he loved, especially chile peppers.
