Jane Monin
Jane Ann Agee Monin, 73, of Louisville passed away Thursday, February 2 at her home. She was born in Saint Joseph, Missouri.
She attended Hall Elementary and Central High School a graduate of the University of Missouri where she met her husband Jim Monin of Oakland, Kentucky. She moved to Louisville in 1960 and worked at WAVE radio before getting married and starting a family.
She began volunteering at Bloom Elementary in her daughter’s Kindergarten classroom in 1970. This began a 30 year association with the school, she moved from parent volunteer to the faculty as an aide in the kindergarten before finally becoming the school bookkeeper. After retiring in 2000 she continued to volunteer at the school.
She loved Louisville and was a longtime resident of the Cherokee Triangle. She was a life long lover of the arts and was a patron to the Louisville Ballet and Actors Theater of Louisville. She was a member of Christ Church Episcopal Cathedral where she was a lector.
She enjoyed spending time with friends, eating at local restaurants; traveling, reading and watching her grandchildren grow up. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
Survived by her husband James D Monin III, daughter Gretchen Boyd (Chuck) of Georgia, son James D. Monin IV (Megan Brady) of Louisville, KY and her brother Alan Agee (Gayle) of St. Joseph MO, grandchildren Ethan and Emily Boyd and Jake and Maerose Monin.
Funeral service 11:00 a.m. Wednesday February 8, 2012 at Christ Church Cathedral 421 S. 2nd Street, visitation in Bishops Hall at Christ Church Cathedral 10:00 a.m. Wednesday until time of service
