George Ray Smith

SMITH, LTC GEORGE RAY, RETIRED USA, 61, passed January 27, 2012 in Taylorsville, KY.

Born October 6, 1950 in LaFollette, TN, he was a 1973 graduate of Tennessee Tech University, and earned his MBA in 1987. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge, Veterans of Foreign Wars and the American Legion.

He is survived by his wife, Laura (Blakey) and his children, Adam Smith, of Woodbridge, VA and Erin Gahren (Vincent), of Charlotte, NC; sister, Dorcas Malicote (Smith), of LaFollette; and his brother, Charles Smith, of St. Clair Shores, MI.

Visitation: 4-7 p.m. Tuesday at Pearson's, 149 Breckenridge Lane, with a prayer service at 6:45 p.m. Burial will be held at Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, VA.
