Crutchfield, John Goodall, 82, of Louisville, passed away June 28, 2011. He was a devoted father and husband with a marvelous sense of humor. He was kind and good and will be remembered affectionately by many.
He was born in Trenton, KY on December 23, 1928.
After earning a degree in agriculture from the University of Kentucky, he returned home to transform the family farm in Trenton into a dairy farm.
John joined the Navy as an officer and rose to the rank of Lieutenant Commander. He served as an aviator, flying jets and helicopters off of aircraft carriers.
He obtained his law degree from Vanderbilt University. He practiced law for over fifty years and was a partner in the law firm of MacKenzie and Peden, PSC.
He was a member of the Sons of the American Revolution and the Filson Historical Society.
John was preceded in death by his parents, Malvern and Mary McChesney Crutchfield of Trenton, KY; a brother Charles (Bubber) Crutchfield; and sisters Isobel (Lasses) Crutchfield and Sidney (Teeny) Dudley.
He is survived by his wife, Jeanne; two daughters, Amy Burke and Sara Crutchfield; two brothers Malvern (Booger) and Robert (Bob) Crutchfield; two sisters, Mary Burnett (Peggy) Marino and Lucy (Cindy) Crutchfield; and his cat, Lucy.
A service will be held at a later date. Pearsonís in charge of arrangements.
